FRACTIONAL CPO

Senior People and Organizational Leadership for Complex Business Challenges

A fractional Chief People Officer provides senior leadership on the people, organizational and leadership issues affecting business performance, typically 1–2 days per week.

Rysa works alongside the CEO and executive team on issues such as organization design, leadership capacity, succession, decision rights, executive-team effectiveness and the people implications of business strategy, without requiring a full-time executive hire.

How It's Different:

vs. a full-time CHRO: Senior executive capability without adding a full-time role before the business requires one

vs. an HR consultant: An ongoing member of the leadership team who helps shape decisions and implement change over time

vs. handling it yourself: Experienced organizational judgment on issues that otherwise continue to consume CEO and executive-team capacity

This is for you if:

You are an established mid-market company navigating economic uncertainty who needs experienced people and organizational leadership to reduce risk, stabilize performance, and protect leadership capacity—without committing to a full-time executive hire.

The people side of the business is demanding more executive attention than it should

What Changes When We Work Together

Outcomes

  • Strategic thinking partner for high-stakes decisions. You gain an experienced advisor who understands both P&L constraints and people implications, someone who helps you think through difficult trade-offs, pressure-test your assumptions, and make decisions you can defend to yourself, your team, and your board.

An organization better aligned with the business. Talent strategy that protects critical capability. Performance management that drives results without destroying morale. Compensation frameworks that balance fiscal responsibility with retention. Succession planning that mitigates risk. Systems designed for the reality you're operating in, not the ideal state you wish you had.

Leadership team that functions under pressure. Your executive team aligns on priorities, makes decisions together instead of in silos, challenges each other constructively, and stops escalating every difficult choice to you. They develop the capability to navigate ambiguity without fragmenting.

Greater management depth and less key-person dependency. Critical knowledge, authority and decision-making are distributed more effectively across the organization. Succession risks are clearer, and the business becomes less dependent on a small number of individuals.

  • Board and investor confidence through uncertainty. Clearer visibility into organizational risks, more deliberate decisions about leadership and structure, and better reporting on the people and organizational issues that could affect execution.

Freedom to focus on what only you can do. You stop being the default person for every people question and difficult conversation. You have a trusted partner handling strategic people decisions, which means you can focus on the business challenges that actually require your unique capability and judgment.
